Captain Liam Mc Guirk opened the scoring with two points but Emyvale kept in touch and it wasn’t until Patrick Mulligan scored a goal near the end of the half that Drumhowan got some breathing space to go five ahead but Emyvale closed the half strongly to leave only the goal in it at the half time whistle – Drumhowan 1-5 Emyvale 0-5.
Drumhowan started the 2nd half well and went 5 points ahead but Emyvale got 2 goals in a 5 minute spell mid way through the half to leave the bare minimum in it. Hovever that was as close as it got with Drumhowan scoring 1-3 in the final ten minutes the goal coming from a penalty by Colm Lambe after Aidan Duffy had been hauled down. In the same period perhaps due to celebrations catching up on them, Emyvale could only manage the one point to leave the full time score Drumhowan 2-13 Emyvale 2-7
