Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Semi-Final

Toome 3-9 Drumhowan 0-14

Toome qualified for their first JFC Final since 2009 when they held off a strong challenge from Drumhowan in Inniskeen. This was a tenth win from ten competitive games in 2021 for Toome, who were given their toughest test yet by a Drumhowan side who led by six points to one after 20 minutes. Toome’s lengthy 100% record was under real threat at that stage, but they retained their composure, with a James Wilson penalty sending them in on level terms. The win remained up for grabs until the end, but goals inside the last ten minutes by William Woods and Wilson saw Toome through. Drumhowan had a wide spread of scorers as they went close to a second JFC Final appearance in three years, but those late goals put the game beyond their reach.
