Gerry’s Prepared Veg Under 13 Division 2 Championship Final.
Drumhowan 6-17. Clontibret 5-16
A stronger more assured Drumhowan became Division 2 champions against a spirited Clontibret at a sun soaked Doohamlet on Sunday evening. After a tight opening 10 minutes, Drumhowan began to take increasing control of the contest registering some fine scores from midfielder Tom Doherty and full forward Jason Clarke. For their part in the opening half corner forward Josh Lowey accounted for all but two of Clontibret’s scores.
Despite 12 points separating the sides at halftime and Drumhowan in a commanding position a determined Clontibret rallied in the second half led by the stylish Josh Lowey and Odhran Keenan to reduce the deficit to three points heading into the closing stages. However, Drumhowan showed composure from Clarke and Killian Mc Adam in a frantic finish to hold on for a memorable win for the mid-Monaghan club.
