Eurotech  JFL Full Time Score  Scotstown 2-15 Drumhowan 0-10 – On Sunday last the 8th of May the Seniors had another disappointing result away to Scotstown.  It started brightly enough with the score level at 2 points a piece after 5 minutes with the scores coming from Aiden Quinn and a 45 from Enda Duffy. Drumhowan kept in touch for most of the 1st half until  a Jamie Carey goal on the half time whistle. This left the half time score Scotstown 1-8 Drumhowan 0-4. At half time the two midfielders were replaced by Michael Atkinson and Ciaran Deery. However things got worse with Scotstown scoring the first two points of the first half. Platinum Tanks RFL Division 2 – the next game in this competition is an away one to Rockcorry on Wednesday  25th  May.

 

Minor Football League Division 1 –  Last Tuesday the 3rd of May  the minors made a long journey to Traugh where the locals defeated St. Patrick’s 3-11 to 3-18.  They also played Clontibret in Ballybay  last Tuesday the 9th of  May  and will take on Monaghan Harps next Tuesday 17th of May in the final game before the  exam break.

 

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U16 Division 1 –  Last Thursday the 5th of May the U16s  took on Carrick away in a high scoring match in which they were narrowly defeated on a full time scoreline of Carrickmacross 2-15 Drumhowan 4-6. This Thursday 12th May (tonight) Scotstown are the visitors to Drumhowan with a 7.30pm throw in.

 

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14  Division 3  – The U14s  had a good away win over a gallant Patrick Emmett’s side on Saturday last scoring 6-18 in the process. Despite the comfortable margin there will be improvement needed for the challenges ahead. Next up is a home game against Aughnamullen on Saturday 21st May followed by Clontibret away in the championship.

 

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U12 Division 3   – The U12s start their Division 3 campaign on this Saturday at noon. They are in a group along with Aghabog, Aughnamullen, Cremartin, Inniskeen and Seans and will play each team home and away giving  a grand total of 10 games over the Summer. U10 – The U10s  took part in a Go Games Blitz in Cloghan on Saturday last and had games against Scotstown, Blayney and Inniskeen. The  team performed very well in all 3 games showing both good skills and plenty of determination despite the terrible weather conditions. The panel on the day was Tom Doherty, Finnian O Neill, Evan Treanor, Paul Finnegan, James Mc Entee, Eoin Sheridan, Martin Quinn, Jerome Lavelle, Katie Mc Adam, Cian Mc Adam, Darragh Mc Adam and Caolan Treanor.

 

U8 Go Games Blitz. This Saturday its the turn of our Under 8 side to play in Cloghan. All players should be in Cloghan for 9.15am and it will finish at 11.15. This year we have new players to go games so can parents please ensure they attend. All players should wear a gum shield and take a hoodie.

 

Community Games –  The parish Tullycorbett side were due this week to play Donagh in Emyvale on this Wednesday evening  the 11th of May at 7-30.

 

Good Luck – to James Mulligan who is taking a break from Ireland and will be working in America as part of his job for the next while.

 

Sympathy – We offer sympathy to Owenie Sullivan and the rest of the Sullivan family on the death of their sister Kitty Longland who died in Northampton recently. The club also offers it’s sympathy  to the family of Eddie Mc Nally, Knappagh who was buried in Ballybay last week  and to Bernadette Ward on the death of her brother Fr Sean Clerkin
