Monaghan Electrical IFL – Last Wednesday 3rd of June – Emyvale were the visitors to Páirc Mhic Eoin. In the 1st half Emyvale scored a hat trick of goals to take a commanding half time lead with the score Drumhowan 1-6 Emyvale 3-6. They increased their lead 3 minutes into the 2nd half with a pointed free. However within 10 minutes Drumhowan had scored an unanswered 1-4 to draw level, the goal scored brilliantly by Owen Quinn. Another point was added from a free by Colm Lambe. Emyvale then kicked 2 points from play. They then received a penalty to put the game beyond doubt. However Gerard Mc Caffrey missed and eventually in the 2nd minute of injury time Kevin Mooney scored the equaliser to leave the final score Drumhowan Drumhowan 2-12 Emyvale 3 – 9. Platinum Tanks RFL Div 2 A – The Bs took on Éire Óg at home last night Wednesday the 10th of June. Please check social media for a result. Next Wednesday the 17th of June the Bs are away to Donaghmoyne with an 8pm throw in.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg Under 14 Div 2 – We were well beaten on Saturday last by a strong Maghercloone side. with the full time score Drumhowan 0- 7 Magheracloone 6-7 We are finding life difficult in a very tough Division 2. Anyway we have to keep going and the boys are doing their best. Training continues on Monday and Thursday evenings at 7pm. No game now until the 4th of July.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg Under 12- Div 2 We play Clones in the next round of the league in St Tiernachs Park on this Saturday at noon. All players should be in Clones for 11.15am.
Under 10 – We took part in the County U10 Blitz held in a wet and windy Cloghan on Saturday morning last. We recorded wins in our three group games over Rockcorry, Corduff and Killanny. We then faced Latton in the quarter finals before rain stopped play and the rest of the blitz was cancelled. Well done to all players on a very good performance in difficult conditions. This team will have a match on this Sunday at our own Sports Day at 2pm against Carrickmacross. This will be a massive test for the team. Next Blitz is in Donaghmoyne later in June.
Under 8 – Its a very busy week ahead for this panel as they have games on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we have a Go Games Blitz in Cloghan and all players should be there for 9.10am and it should be over by 11.15am. Then on Sunday we will have games against Aughnamullen and Doohamlet at our own Sports day in Drumhowan. All players should be at the pitch for 1.50pm.
Under 7 – Our Under 7 side travelled to Blackhill on Sunday last to play the locals in their annual Sports Day. After a very exciting game both teams finished level. Details of the replay to be announced by the gaa in the coming days ! We had some players making their debut in the blue and gold and they all done very well. All players received medals after the match and thanks to Blackhill for the invite and the hospitality shown.
Training continues for all teams on Monday and Thursday evenings at 7pm.
Drumhowan Fun Day – remember our Annual fun Day takes place this Sunday the 14th of June between 2 and 6pm. Come and take part in all the events and see will be crowned the SuperValu Super Family.
