U12 & U14s – Training for these panels will commence on Monday evening next 15th Feb at 7pm sharp on the pitch, Wrap up well and take gum shields to every training session all season otherwise you wont be covered by insurance in the event of an accident. Our U14 side will compete in Division 3 this season. Our Under 12 side have been placed in a tough looking Spring League group along with Inniskeen ,Magheracloone and Toome. Both teams will be in competitive action around mid March.
U10 – We had 2 teams at the Indoor Blitz in Ballybay on Saturday morning last. Despite being short a few regulars all players performed well and were glad to be back in action again. This week we are on at the later time of 10.45 am and finish at 12.30. All players should be in the Recreation Centre for 10.45 with runners , tracksuit, gumshield and a bottle of water.
U16s – St Patrick’s will once again play in Division one this year . Training for this team commences this Sunday 14th of February at 10am on the Astro Turf in Ballybay. Please bring your boots, runners and water with you.
Ballybay Community College – 2 weeks ago we mentioned that the u16 team were in the county final – they emerged victorious and since then took on St. Joseph’s, Enniskillen whom they also defeated. They will now take on Coláiste na Carraige from Carrick, Donegal in the semi final in the near future. Represented on the panel from Drumhowan were Patrick Quinn, Joseph Duffy and Niall Markey. The U14s playing in the B competition in Ulster had a good quarter win over St. Aidan’s Derrylin in the quarter final.
Adult Teams – the Reserve Leagues are scheduled to start at the beginning of March with 2 games before the Junior League commences around the 20th of March.
Croke Park – We intend to run a bus to the top of the table clash AFL game between Monaghan v Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday 27th February for our juvenile teams from Under 12s to Minors. More information will be given out at training next week. We also hope to maybe have an U12 & U14 challenge match on route if possible so watch this space.
Level 1 Course – Any Foundation coaches who wish to move up to next level there is Level 1 course on March 11th/ 12th. See Monaghan website for details.
Well done to Caolán and Tiernan Reilly and Killian Mc Adam who played at the half time game for Loughmourne NS in the Monaghan v Down AFL game last Sunday 7th February
Sympathy is extended to Gerry Finnegan on the death of his 2 aunts – Mary Duffy and Sr. Ita Markey who both died last weekend and were laid to rest in the past few days.
