Scór na bPáistí – last Saturday the 5th of November in Clontibret Community Centre the club competed in the co final. Congratulations to the Instrumental Group (Jonathan Lavelle, Laura Mc Mahon, Rachel Brennan, Conor & Éanna Curran.) and Set Dancers (Roisin Mc Eneaney, Laura Mc Mahon, Rachel Brennan, Lauren Hanratty, Fiona Markey, Mary Walsh, Shauna and Joseph Lennon ) who came out on top. Hard luck to our solo singer Andrea Sherry and Céilí dancers ( Shauna Lennon, Rachel Brenna and Laura Mc Mahon) who also took part, The Scór na nOg County final will take place on Saturday 19th of November in Threemilehouse.
Indoor Winter Training – This commenced on Saturday evening last and there were a lot of happy faces leaving the Centre afterwards. The 4 week program this year is targeted for children aged from 5 to 8 years old. It will take place on Saturday evenings during the month of November in Ballybay Recreation Centre from 6pm to 7pm. It will be a mixture of fun and games along with some coaching on the basic skills of the game. All new players are welcome to attend so if you know anyone 5 years or older let them know. All players should wear track suits and runners and take a bottle of water. We had a few of our regulars missing last week so see you all this Saturday at 6pm.
Juveniles – All the club’s juvenile coaches would encourage all juvenile players to keep active over the winter months. Whether it’s to take up a new sport like swimming or athletics it will keep you fit and flexible. On Sunday November 27th there is a 2k run for Under 10/12 14.s taking place in Castleblayney as the finale of TransFaughsMation and a 5km one for the parents so get out and get active!!
Coaching the Tackle -This is an interactive indoor coaching workshop taking place on Wednesday 16th November at 7.30pm in Cloghan. It is open to all coaches and will use drills, games and video clips to coach the skill of tackling. At the end of the Session Coaches will have a selection of Drills and Games to improve individual and team tackling. All club coaches are asked to attend.
Congratulations to Angela Mc Donnell and Aidan Baker, Carlingford who got engaged at the weekend at the Hooley on the Hill as part of Angela’s 30th birthday celebrations.
