Eurotech JFL Shield  Drumhowan 1-14 Corduff 1- 5 Drumhowan had an early start away to Corduff last Sunday the 28th of August when they took on the local’s second team. Playing for places in the championship Drumhowan opened the scoring from half forward Mark Mc Cabe. However Corduff scored a goal almost immediately due to a lapse in concentration in the Drumhowan defence. Drumhowan replied within seconds with a cracking goal from Ciarán Duffy.Colm Lambe then opened his account from a free followed up shortly by one from play and Mark Mc Cabe scored another one from a free to leave the score at the end of the first quarter Drumhowan 1-4 Corduff 1-1. The 2nd quarter was a quiet one with no score in the following ten minutes with Dermot Mooney, Aiden Quinn and Mark Mc Cabe kicking three unanswered points in the final 5 minutes to leave Drumhowan 6 points ahead at half time with the score reading Drumhowan 1-7 Corduff 1-1.

Captain Patrick Mulligan came on as a 2nd half at the beginning of the half. In the first 7 minutes Drumhowan extended their lead with two points from Ciaran Duffy and Paul Mc Guirk before Corduff opened their account before. Paul Mc Guirk then scored a second. Drumhowan made a number of changes as the game went into the last quarter and Corduff came into the game more and scored three points in a row to be 7 points behind going into the last few minutes. Drumhowan upped it for one last time with Colm Lambe and Paddy Mulligan closing the scoring to leave the full time score Drumhowan 1-14 Corduff 1- 5

Connolly Meats MFL Div 1 Shield – on Tuesday 22nd August St Patrick’s overcame Scotstown on a 6-7 to 2-6 scoreline in Aghabog  in the playoff to determine who would play Clontibret in the final. That  final took place last Tuesday 30th of August  in Scotstown – check social media for a result.

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14 Div 3 Cup Semi Final –  Cremartin  5-10    Drumhowan  3-18   – The U14s  played Cremartin on Monday evening  the 29th of August in the league semi final in what turned out a thrilling affair they emerged with a great two point win. The team turned earlier league form on its head with a magnificent display with subs coming on and playing their part as well.  The team  now must regroup and prepare to play Aughnamullen in the final in around three weeks time.

Gerry’ s Prepared Veg U12  Div 3 Cup Final  –  The U12s take on Cremartin in the final on this Saturday 3rd September  in Blackhill at 1.40pm. The team had a good away win over Inniskeen last week in the semi final with the final scoreline   Drumhowan 4-12 Inniskeen
1-10. However another further improved performance will be required this weekend to take silverware against the league table toppers. All players should be in Blackhill on Saturday for 1pm. The team had great support in Inniskeen at the semi final and again the club appeals to all our supporters to come out in force behind the team. The team will have their final training on this Thursday evening at 7pm.
U10 – The U10s  travelled to Donaghmoyne on Saturday last to take part in a mini tournament. They  had games against St Joseph’s Dromiskin, Erin’s Isle Dublin, Donaghmoyne and Dundalk Young Irelands. The team played really well over the games and more than held their own. Thanks to Donaghmoyne for the invite and the super hospitality shown to our team and supporters.
U8 – The U8’s took part in a Go Games Blitz in Ballybay on Saturday morning last. The team had games against Ballybay and Killanny and this group continue to improve with each outing. Thanks to Ballybay for running the blitz.
Monday Training – This will continue for another few Monday evenings for all teams.
Date for the Diary – U11 BC Tournament on September 17th in Emyvale.
Congratulations to Natasha and Stephen Mc Donnell on the birth of their daughter Naoise who came into this world on  Saturday 20th August.
All  Ireland Breakfast Morning – keep the date marked in your diary. Drumhowan Community Group in conjunction with  the GAA  Club will hold a breakfast morning  on Sunday 18th September.
