Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14 Division 3 Cup Final  Drumhowan 0-12 Aughnamullen 4-10

In the last underage football final of the season for 2016 Drumhowan took on near neighbours Aughnamullen in the Ballintra Cup  Final in Doohamlet. Drumhowan  were going into the match as underdogs as they were taking on an undefeated team in the league. They suffered a set back during the week when forward Shay Treanor suffered a broken wrist.

Drumhowan started strongly and worked hard throughout and despite playing against the strong wind only went only went in 1-6 to 0-6  down at half time. However Aughnamullen came out stronger in the second half and were able to score goals at crucial point and try as they may Drumhowan couldn’t get that crucial goal. As a result when referee Jim Kelly blew the final whistle  Aughnamullen had emerged victorious on the full time scoreline Drumhowan 0-12 Aughnamullen 4-10

Eurotech JFL Shield – Drumhowan at this point are still scheduled to play Scotstown this Sunday 2nd October  at 12 noon in Drumhowan. Please check social media for updates on this. Good to see manager Gerry Quinn making a recovery from his recent operation. Everyone in the club wishes you well.

Our Lady’s Blitz –  There is a blitz for 6th class boys on this Saturday morning in Our Lady’s Secondary School in Castleblayney. All players should be at school Astro turf pitch for 9-40am and its over at 12.
U10  –  The U10s  were to host Aughnamullen in a challenge game on Tuesday evening last. This match will be good preparation for the Monaghan Harps Tournament which takes place on this Saturday morning the 1st of October. All players should be at Monaghan Harps pitch for 9.30am sharp and it should be over around 12.30pm. Take gum shields and hoodie
U10 Dan Markey Memorial Cup –  Our own Under 10 tournament now takes place on Saturday October 15th commencing at 10.30am. We had to move the date back a week due to the Junior final taking place in Drumhowan on the original date.
U13 Blitz –  There is a 7 a side blitz in Cloghan on Monday Oct 10th at 7pm. More details next week.
Training –   Training for Under 10/12/13 players continues next Monday evening from 6.45 to 7.45pm
 
Universal  Graphics  JFC Final – Drumhowan are pleased to announce that the Junior Final will take place in Páirc Mhic Eoin on Sunday 9th of October at 3.30pm Lots of help will be needed on the day from 1.45pm and also in preparation. Please volunteer and don’t have to be asked.  More details next week.
