Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14 Division 3 Cup Final Drumhowan 0-12 Aughnamullen 4-10
In the last underage football final of the season for 2016 Drumhowan took on near neighbours Aughnamullen in the Ballintra Cup Final in Doohamlet. Drumhowan were going into the match as underdogs as they were taking on an undefeated team in the league. They suffered a set back during the week when forward Shay Treanor suffered a broken wrist.
Drumhowan started strongly and worked hard throughout and despite playing against the strong wind only went only went in 1-6 to 0-6 down at half time. However Aughnamullen came out stronger in the second half and were able to score goals at crucial point and try as they may Drumhowan couldn’t get that crucial goal. As a result when referee Jim Kelly blew the final whistle Aughnamullen had emerged victorious on the full time scoreline Drumhowan 0-12 Aughnamullen 4-10
