Seniors – finished their Intermediate campaign with another defeat away to Cremartin last Sunday. The final score was Cremartin 2-9 Drumhowan 1-4. However credit must be given to players for playing the game unlike the other relegated teams in the county. The club would like to thank all the players for the commitment they have given this year and while many results didn’t go our way we competed well in most games. Lets look forward to a new challenge in 2014. Also thanks to the management team who gave given great service over the past few years and we are sure to see them around the club in some form in 2014.
AGM – due to work commitments of some club officers the AGM has been postponed by one week. The new date is now Thursday 21st. Nomination forms will be available later this week. At the club meeting last week Chairman David Hurson and Secretary Noel Duffy announced that they would be stepping down from their positions at the AGM. The PRO position is also vacant due to Megan Finnegan leaving for Australia. Finally due to 5 year rule Noel Duffy will also be stepping down from his position of Co. Board Delegate. As you can see a lot of new blood will be needed on the committee for the year ahead. Fully paid up members are entitled to nominate people for all positions except that of children’s officer. However please ask these people to see if they are interested before nominating them.

Death of Eamonn Ward – the club would like to offer sympathy to the family of Eamonn formerly of Drumlane who died last week and was buried in Ballintra last Friday. Even though Eamonn hasn’t lived in Drumhowan for many, many years he was still a paid up member of the club up until his death and came from Dundalk for many club events. For younger readers Eamonn is also the man who can be attributed for giving Drumhowan the Geraldines name way back at it’s foundation when he organised the printing of the tickets for Drumhowan’s first ever fundraising draw. Even more remarkable he did this as a 17 year old. Present day members take note – your never too young to help out with the running of the club! May he rest in peace.
JFL Final – will take place this Sunday 3rd November between Seans and Oram at Drumhowan. Stewards are needed from 1.30pm Please don’t have to be asked – just come along and help. Many hands make light work!
