Thank you to all who attended the Drumhowan AGM last Friday. We want to thank Tara Quinn for 3 years and Philip Mc Adam for 6 years of dedication to the committee. We welcome Clare Reilly on board as Treasurer. If you are considering joining the committee, we are looking for a Secretary and a Childrens Officer.
The annual club draw winners: €300 Noel Kilpatrick, €100 John Hanratty & €50 Hughie Duffy. The AGM discussion had a big focus on funds and Friends of Drumhowan payments. The club has seen considerable increase in costs from utilities to insurance and affiliation fees. Payments for Friends of Drumhowan for 2023 can be paid anytime online on Foireann, via PayPal or paid to any committee member. Please support the club.
Our 2022 Club Volunteer of the Year is Terry Mc Ginnity. Terry was born in Drumhowan. He became actively involved with the Drumhowan club while still a teenager and played as a defender for several years. He was Drumhowan Club Secretary from 1961-67. He moved to England for a few years before coming back and living in Northern Ireland with his wife Esther. During this time, Terry always supported Drumhowan.

In the early eighties, Terry moved back to Drumhowan, right beside the football field. Terry then immersed himself in all club activities – the building of the new Community Centre and dressing rooms and improvements on the football pitch.
Terry coached juvenile teams, he was the club referee, he was a selector on the 1991 and 1993 Championship winning teams, and he was the Club Secretary. His daughter Áine actively plays for the club and his 3 sons played with club, most notably Stephen, who had a distinguished career with both club and county. Terry is still involved with club today – doing scoreboard and opening and closing dressing rooms on match days. He is a very valued member of Drumhowan GAA.
The 90’s Celebration was a wonderful night. Thank-you to all who were part of the planning committee, the catering, the entertainment, and those who donated raffle prizes. Thank-you to all those who attended and for making it such a great night!
