Monaghan Electrical IFL – Last Sunday the Senior Team made the short journey to Aughnamullen where they took on the locals. At half time things weren’t looking too bad as the score was level at 0-5 apiece.  However a goal from Pete Dooney 5 minutes into the second half and one from Colin Clerkin two minutes from the end were essentially the difference between the two teams as the full time score finished Drumhowan 0-9  Aughnamullen 2-9.  Next game is scheduled  at this stage for Saturday 17th of October at home to Tyholland.

U 10 –  On this coming Saturday we host our own U10 tournament. All players should be in Drumhowan for 9.50am sharp. Please take gum shields and a hoody and have a good breakfast before you leave home. It will finish up shortly after 1pm.
U 8  –  Last Saturday morning we had Aughnamullen as visitors to  a  sun drenched Mc Keown Park for an end of season friendly. We had two games running at the one time over three periods of 15 minutes. Both sides showed some great skills and the football was of a good quality. Again this age group continues to improve with each outing thanks to the good work of team coaches Brendan Treanor and Catherine O Neill all season. There will be quite a few of this group now moving on to Under 10 level next season. We all still need to keep   practising the basic kicking and catching skills over the winter months and stay mobile and active. There may be another game in the coming weeks. Thanks to Aughnamullen for travelling over for two good sporting games.
Monday Training – This finished up on Monday evening last for the season with a great turnout of players and a great session to finish with. Thanks to all our coaches for the time and effort they put in all season. Thanks also to the players and their parents for attending. We hope to run a few indoor sessions during November  the same as in previous years..
Drumhowan U10 Tournament –  This Saturday morning the club host an eight team Tournament. The clubs taking part along with ourselves are Clontibret, Cremartin, Latton, Magheracloone, Castleblayney, Derrynoose and Butlersbridge. The action throws in at 10.30am and the finals are fixed for 12.30 with some eighteen games to get played over the morning. We are looking help on the day with stewards and helpers needed from 9.45am in order to run the event in a smooth and timely manner. We are also looking help in the kitchen from 10.45 onwards. Anyone who wishes to make or bake anything for the day it would be greatly appreciated. Or if you are  just a football supporter and want to see some exciting football without a sweeper or blanket in sight then Mc Keown Park is the place to be on Saturday at 10.30am. Hopefully the good weather we have at present will hold up for the weekend.
First Aid  Course – The Club in conjunction with the community group will be running a basic first aid course in the Community Centre on Thursday 8th of October from 7pm. We urge coaches, parents and players and members of the general public  to attend. You never know when you might need to  put into practice  what you learn.  Please contact Tommy Mc Ardle on 042 – 9745023
CPR and Defibrillator Training – will take place in the Community Centre on Thursday 15th of October from 8pm. We urge at least one person from each household to attend.  You could save someone’s life. Contact Tommy once again for further information.
