Scór na nÓg -Big congratulations to our Instrumental Group who retained their Gaelic Life Ulster Scór na nÓg Title in Silverbridge last Saturday night. Well done to Éimear and Conor Quinn, Stephen and Colm Mc Mahon and Finbarr Brennan. Thanks also to Francis Mc Mahon their tutor. Hard luck to the Set Dancers tutored by Angela Mc Cabe and Pauline Grogan. They came a very close second. Well done to Blinne and Megan Treanor, Sinéad and Áine Grogan, Christina Sherry, Lauren Duffy, Angie Mc Guirk and Orlaith Brennan.
The Instrumental Group will now take part in the All-Ireland Final in Castlebar on Saturday 1st March. The Quiz team of Steven and Colm Mc Mahon, Finbar Brennan and Patrick Duffy will take part in the Quiz All Ireland the previous night, Friday 28th February also in Castlebar. Championship Draw – At the Co. Committee meeting last Monday night Drumhowan were drawn against Toome in the Junior Championship Preliminary Round. The winners of this game will play either Killeevan or Blackhill. This game will take place in early June.
Juvenile Presentation and Registration Night – will take place on Sunday 9th February at 6.30pm
Allianz League – Monaghan will start their 2014 Div 2 campaign this Saturday night in Páirc Esler, Newry against Down. Season tickets can be bought at www.gaa.ie/seasonticket These cost €85. For an extra €50 you can purchase Club+ This entitles to you free entry for All Club Championship Games within Monaghan for 2014. New this year is the advance purchase of tickets before a league game. If an adult buys a ticket at any Centra or Super Valu store or www.tickets.ie up to the day before the game they will receive it for €10. Ticket prices on the day will be €15 for adults , €10 for students and OAPs . All U16s are free.
First Aid Course – All coaches of all teams within the Club are required to undertake a basic Sports First Aid Course. This will take place on Tuesday 11th February at 7pm in the Community Centre.
Coaching Courses – Next Monday in Cloghan Tony Scullion will take a free Coaching Session entitled Kickouts and Midfield Coordination. It will start at 7.30pm and finish at 9pm. If interested please contact Donal Mc Adam for further information. There will also be a new rules presentation on Thursday 6th February in Cloghan from 7.30 – 9pm. Pat Mc Enaney will host.
Club Executive Meeting – Thursday 30th January at 9pm. All National Ticket Draw money has to be returned by this date. Lets keep up the good attendances.
