Eurotech JFL Drumhowan 1-2 Éire Óg 4-10

Probably the less said about this game the better so we will keep it brief. Drumhowan scored their first point from a free by Mark Mc Cabe with the last kick of the 1st half and by that stage Eíre Óg had scored 2-6 with Drumhowan missing a 2nd penalty in a week. A Mark Mc Cabe goal in the 1st minute of the second half gave a brief glimmer of hope but that was as good as it got with an Anthony Mulligan point over twenty minutes later the only other score Drumhowan got.Éire Óg kept motoring and scored another 2-4 to leave the full time score Drumhowan 1-2 Éire Óg 4-10. Let’s hope another performance like this won’t be seen in Drumhowan for a long time.

PLATINUM TANKS RFL Div 2 Blackhill 2-9 Drumhowan 1-4

Drumhowan took on neighbours Blackhill last Wednesday 20th April . Short a few Dermot Mc Dermott made his first appearance in a Drumhowan Jersey in a few years. This was perhaps the highlight of the first half with Drumhowan remaining scoreless for the first 27 minutes with JP O Neill eventually opening the scoring by which time Blackhill had scored 2-1. This was also the half time score.

Drumhowan opened the scoring in the second half with a free from Mark Mc Cabe. but then Blackhill upped it again and by the time Mark Mc Cabe had another score from a free they had 2-5 on the board,Then half way through the half in what was the score of the game JP O Neill soloed 40 metres through the centre and rifled the ball home to score a goal to leave only 5 in it. However that was as good as it got with Drumhowan only scoring another point near the end by which time this scribe wasn’t paying attention and so didn’t note the final score – anyone who knows let me know!!

Team and Scorers Cormac Duffy, Mark Quinn, Conor Duffy, Niall Duffy, Paddy Mulligan, Dermot Mooney, Mark Ross, JP O’ Neill 1-1 , Kieran Mc Elroy, Paul Mc Guirk, Dermot Mc Dermott, Michael Atkinson, Dean Mooney, Ciarán Deery, Mark Mc Cabe 0-2 (2f)
