Club Notes 24/5/16
Platinum Tanks RFC Crawley Cup Semi Final  –  last Saturday the 21st of May in Blackhill Drumhowan B’s took on the near neighbours in Semi final of the Crawley Cup.  Blackhill made a strong start and after 15 minutes were ahead 1-7  to 0-3 with the Drumhowan scores coming from the boot of JP 0′ Neill x 2 and Mark Mc Cabe. Drumhowan then upped their game scoring 4  unanswered  points in the remainder  of the half  to leave the half time score Drumhowan 0-7 Blackhill 1-7.
Drumhowan  opened the second half in whirlwind style with a goal and 2 points, the goal being palmed to the net by the secretary Paul Mc Guirk.  A Ciarán Duffy point in the 5th minute however was Drumhowan’s  final score as they led by two points at that stage. Blackhill slowly fought back in a hard hitting encounter  drawing level in the 23rd minute. Drumhowan tried hard to get ahead but the hosts were having none of it and popped over the final three points of the game to leave  the full time score Drumhowan 1-9 Blackhill 1-12  They now play  Sean Mc Dermotts in the final

Check social media for a result.
 
Minor Football League Division 1  – the St. Patrick’s minor team finished their league campaign last Tuesday the 17th of May with a win in Ballybay. They beat the Harps in a high scoring encounter with the full time score St. Patrick’s 3-8 to 2-10. Next game will be after the exam break. They will play neighbours Aughnamullen in the championship as the draw was made in Cloghan last Wednesday.
 
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U16 Division 1 Last Thursday the 19th of May the U16s suffered a heavy defeat away to the team to beat in the  division  Aughnamullen with the full time score Aughnamullen  5-19 to St. Patrick’s 2-6
The next game will not take place until after the exam break.
 
Gerry’s Prepared Veg  U14 Division 3  – The  U14s were well defeated by a stronger Aughnamullen side on Saturday last with a full-time  score  4-9 to 8-15. The  boys were disappointed by an overall sub standard  display. However they must dust themselves down and get ready for a championship meeting in Clontibret on next Tuesday Night May 31st at 7.30. All players should be in Clontibret for 7pm and we ask for good support for the boys.
 
Gerry’s Prepared  Veg U12  Div3 –   Drumhowan 5-6     Inniskeen  6-8 . The U12s  hosted Inniskeen on Monday evening in the second game of the league. This was a thrilling affair of exciting football with Inniskeen emerging worthy winners. The team now  play Cremartin this Saturday at noon in Drumhowan. All players should be in dressing rooms for 11.30am
U10   Community Games – Tullycorbett have their final group game against Truagh in Drumhowan on this Thursday night the 26th of May  at 7.15pm. It’s a winner takes all affair with a semi final place up for grabs. Best of luck to the team.
U8   The next Blitz for this team takes place in Rockcorry on Saturday 11th June at 10am.
Coaching – Thanks to Ann Mc Kenna from Monaghan coaching and games who took an enjoyable training session with our Under 8 – 10 side on Monday evening.
Congratulations to the girls and boy from the area who made their 1st holy communion in Ballybay last Saturday 21st of May. Also well done to  the 3 Drumhowan students – Stephen Mc Mahon, Tomasina Mc Ginnity and Machailla Mc Cabe  who were nominated for student of the year at Our Lady’s Huge congratulations also  to the overall winner  and fellow parishioner  Eoin Mc Kearney. All 4 were ex students of Scoil Éanna Ballybay.
 
Good luck to Owen Quinn and the rest of the County Minor Team who take on Down in the Ulster MFC Quarter Final this Sunday 29th May  in Clones at 7pm.
