Eurotech Junior Football League Cup Drumhowan 2- 18 Cremartin 3-9   The Seniors made a winning start to their League Cup campaign with an impressive victory over neighbours Cremartin last Friday 20th July in Shamrock Park. The opening  ten minutes were pretty much uneventful with points being exchanged. with Drumhowan’s scores coming from Kevin Mooney and Aiden Quinn. Then within 2 minutes Cremartin had turned the game on it’s head with  two goals.  This  forced Drumhowan into action  with Drumhowan scoring 5 unanswered points before Cremartin registered another. Mark Mc Cabe then kicked his third free of the half in injury time to leave the score at the break Drumhowan 0-9 Cremartin 2-4.
The second half opened brighly for Drumhowan with Mark Mc Cabe  and Kevin Mooney scoring  a brace of points before Cremartin replied with a point of their own. Almost immediately Aidan Duffy had the ball in the back of the Cremartin net  to leave Drumhowan 5 up after ten minutes.  Mark Mc Cabe kicked another two frees before Aidan Duffy got his second goal of the game to leave nine in it with the game going into it’s final quarter. Cremartin then got a  goal back but Drumhowan playing their best football of the year were having none of it  with Mark Mc Cabe and Kevin Mooney  scoring points. Drumhowan 0-16  The U11s had an exciting game in Mc Keown Park on Saturday against a well drilled and skillful Emyvale side.  Emyvale came flying out of the traps and blew us away in the first period running into a substantial lead before the team even woke up .However they  really improved their  performance in the second two periods and managed to put some excellent football , good foot passing and good score taking together. They played with far more determination and drive in the last 2 periods . However try as they may they couldn’t fully pull back the lead Emyvale had amassed in the first period. Next up is a home match against Inniskeen on Saturday 4th August..
