Eurotech JFL Shield Drumhowan 2-12 Aghabog 0-15
Drumhowan opened their shield campaign with a narrow victory at home in Páirc Mhic Eoin on Sunday last the 21st of August.
Kieran Mooney opened the scoring again this Sunday with a pointed free in the 1st min and this was followed shortly by a point from Ciaran Duffy.However Aghabog then scored three unanswered points until Kieran and Ciaran scored once again just on the quarter hour mark. Aghabog answered back with 2 points before a fine Drumhowan move was finished off by a rare Dermot Mooney goal. Both teams then exchanged point before Michéal Duffy scored from a free to leave the half time score Drumhowan 1-6 Aghabog 0-7
In the first quarter of the second half points were exchanged with Kieran Mooney, Ciaran and Micheal Duffy kicking points but Aghabog were getting more into the game and with 10 minutes left led by a point 0-13 to 1-9. Sub Colm Lambe then levelled the scores in the 54minute. Going into the last 5 minutes points were exchanged the Drumhowan score coming from another sub Paul Mc Guirk and with under a minute of normal time left it looked liked the game was going to end in a draw. Top scorer Ciaran Duffy had other ideas scoring another of his trademark goals in the the 59th minute. Try as they may Aghabog could only get another point but this was once again cancelled out with another point by goal scorer Ciaran Duffy. This left the full time score Drumhowan 2-12 Aghabog 0-15

Connolly Meats MFL Division 1 Shield – St. Patrick’s took on Scotstown last Tuesday the 23rd August in a playoff. If successful they are scheduled to play Clontibret next Tuesday 30th August at 6.30pm in the Division 1 Shield Final.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U16 Division 1 Shield – The U16s fell narrowly to Carrick last Thursday the 18th of August on a 2-11 to 3-10 scoreline. As a result their campaign is finished for 2016. The club would like to thank the management team of Martin Mc Elearney, Tom Mc Skeane and Kevin Smyth as well as all the players who put in a tremendous effort all season.
