B Team- Drumhowan defeated Killeevan narrowly on Sunday last. Half time score was Drumhowan 0-8, Kileevan 0-3. Full time score Drumhowan 0-12, Killeevan 0-11. Scorers were Kieran Mooney 0-7, David Caulfield 0-5. Reserve team are now through to the Semi Final of the O Duffy Cup.
Minors – St Pats good start to the campagin continued with a high scoring draw away to Corduff on the scoreline St Pats 5-7 Corduff 2-16 . The team then had a top of the table clash with Inniskeen on Tuesday night last and emerged with a narrow win on a scoreline on St Pats 2-11 Inniskeen 3-6. A good start and finish to the game laid the foundations for victory. This competition now goes on hold till after the exams but training will continue in preparations for the last league game and the semi final.
Under 16,s played Aughnamullen in Drumhowan on Monday evening last and emerged winners in a high scoring game by 7-15 to 2-15 . They play Seans tonight Thursday away at 7pm.
Under 14,s had a good win against Aghabog on scoreline of 7-12 to 5-9. This was an excellent game of football between two well matched teams.They then had another win on Saturday last against Monaghan Harps B side.
Under 12,s – This team were defeated by a bigger stronger Maghercloone team in the Spring league final in Cloghan. However the squad put up a gallant show and no doubt the team and management will now be turning their attentions to the league campagin that will be soon starting. Under 10,s – This team played in a blitz in Rockcorry on Saturday last, They had games against Clones, Rockcorry and Tyholland. Thanks to Rockcorry for the hospitality and refreshments.
Under 8,s – This team played in a well organised blitz hosted by Toome the previous weekend. They team played 3 games against Doohamlet A / B and Ballybay and performed well in all games. For some players it was their first time to wear the blue and gold and hopefully they will continue to do so for many years to come . This Saturday the team are in Rockcorry for 9.45 for another blitz
Under 5-14 training continues each Monday 7-8pm – all welcome.
Bereavements- The club wishes to express their sympathy to the Duffy family on the death Brian Culleton who was Chairman of the Avoca club in Wicklow and was married to Mary Duffy, sister of Hughie and John Duffy.
