Ulster Junior Championship Semi-final – Last Saturday 16 November we took on Derry Champions, Craigbane in the semi-final at O’ Neills Healy Park, Omagh. For so long it looked like a victory. Up 0-6 to 0-3 at half time. Then after 10 minutes in the 2nd half the score stood at 1-9 to 0-5. However Craigbane gradually got back into the game but didn’t score the equaliser until the final kick in normal time after 4 minutes of injury time. In extra time both teams hit 2 points each and we had a chance with a free kick in injury time to secure victory but it wasn’t to be. Buíochas – As the dust settles on the Ulster campaign the club would like to thank the players, manager Donal Mc Adam, coaches Jimmy Traynor and Marty Fox for the joy and entertainment they have given the supporters all season. We would also like to thank the rest who helped out in any way – Kitman- Paudie Mc Geough and his mun Liz for looking after the jerseys all year, water men – Darren and Ronan Duffy , stats team of Eanna Curran, Cian & Darragh Mc Adam, match day Physio Jasmine Dillon and finally Seamus Markey for his work with our goalkeepers. Thanks to all the great supporters we had on our journey and also everyone who contributed towards team costs We would also like to thank Raymond in the Old Coach Inn for his generosity after the 2 Ulster club games and Karen in Cloughvalley Stores for providing refreshments for the team during the season. As a club we are looking forward to playing Intermediate Football in 2025 after a nine year absence.
Speedy recovery to loyal and long term supporter Mickey Mc Elroy who is recovering at the moment. We hope to see him out and about soon.
