Gerry’s Prepared Veg U16 Div 1 Shield Final – last Saturday in Blackhill St. Patrick’s took on the Championship Winners Inniskeen. On the day things just didn’t happen and the team was well beaten by a physically stronger Inniskeen team. Full time score was St. Patricks 1-7 Inniskeen 4-12. The club would like to thank the players for all their efforts throughout the year and also major thanks must go to the management team of Francis Mc Mahon, Tom Mc Skeane and Damien Caraher.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14 Div 2 – The U14s travel to Truagh on this Saturday for the shield semi final. All players should be in Truagh for 11.15am and also at training this Thursday 3rd September (tonight) at 7pm. Best of luck to the team and management.
U10 -This squad had two games in the past week against Aughnamullen and Monaghan Harps. They played an excellent Harps side in Drumhowan on Monday night in what turned out to be a good game of football. The team performed poorly in the first quarter but showed considerable improvement in periods two and three. This will stand in good stead as the squad go to two tournaments over the next two weekends. First up this Saturday the team travels to Pearse Og in Armagh City. A bus will leave Ballybay Community College at 8.20am on Saturday morning. Players please bring all gear, gum shield and a hoodie and have a good breakfast before you travel.
U8 – The U8s had two teams in action in glorious sunshine in St Tiernachs Park on Saturday morning last in a Go Games Blitz. Games were played against Castleblayney, Carrick, Oram, Donaghmoyne and Tyholland. The whole team competed well in all the games as the boys and girls continue to improve. They also had an exciting game against Aughnamullen on Wednesday night last.
U8 Blitz – This Saturday morning the club host a Go Games Blitz. All Under 8 players should be at our pitch Páirc Mhic Eoin for 9.10am and it will finish at 11.15. Help is also needed in order to run the blitz smoothly so if you are free it would be appreciated as some people will be off with the U10 team to Armagh.
Training continues for another few Monday evenings.
Gratitude – The club would like to thank all those who turned out in such great numbers to help steward, work in the shop or serve refreshments at the Greenfield Foods SFC game last Sunday 30th August. While the numbers weren’t as big as expected hopefully it shows that we are capable of hosting of bigger games.
