Intermediate League Drumhowan 1-9 Currin 1-10 . We had a disappointing result on Sunday away to Currin. After a good first half where we went in 6 points up we proceeded to produce a terrible second half where we could only manage two more points in total.
Reserves – Drumhowan 2-12 Rockcorry 1-12 We picked up a good win in Rockcorry on Wednesday night last. This was an exciting game with some good scores and bad misses by both sides. Mark Mc Cabe grabbed both Drumhowan goals with one from the penalty spot. It took some good defending, goal line clearences and a brilliant penalty save from our keeper Cormac Duffy to secure the two points.
Minors: St Pats 2-15 Seans 0-8 . We we’re out again on Tuesday evening away to Donaghmoyne at 7-30. We play Clontibet in Drumhowan at 7-30 pm on Tuesday 21st in the first round of the minor championship. Again we ask for all our supporters to come out in force behind the boys.
U16 ; St Pats suffered a dissapointing heavy defeat in the championship at the hands of Truagh on Thursday night last.
U14 – We play Toome in Drumhowan on Saturday at noon. All players at the pitch for 11.20am.
U12 Latton 5-13. Drumhowan 2-7 We were short 4/5 players from our starting team on Sat last due to holidays. So a number of younger players made their U12 debut and they put up a good display against an excellent Latton side. We now enter the shield competition where we play Toome in the semi final at home at end of July. All Players need to be training on both Monday and Thursday nights 7pm.
U10 – We are taking part in a competitive Blitz in Truagh on this Saturday morning against clubs from all over Ulster. It will be an early start so off to bed early on Friday night and have a good breakfast on Saturday morning. A text will go out later in the week with details. Again we appeal for parents to get all players to Truagh on time and maybe share lifts.
U8 – We had a team in a Go Games Blitz in Castleblayney on Saturday morning last. Despite been short a number of players due to holidays we perfomed well on the day with games against Carrick , Harps and Blayney.
Double Blitz – Drumhowan will host a double Blitz for Under 8 & Under 10 on Thursday week July 23rd from 7pm-9pm with 5 clubs in attendance. There will be up to ten games running at the one time on both pitches so we will need help from club members and parents of the children in order to run the event smoothly. Please note that both pitches will be closed that evening for training etc.
Friends of Drumhowan. We would ask all players, supporters and families of juvenile players to pay the €120 that is now due. This is a vital part of raising money to keep the club going. All monies should be handed in to club treasurer John Reilly or to a coach after juvenile training on Monday and Thursday nights. If people prefer they can pay monthly by direct debit and these forms can be got after training also.
Best wishes to the Monaghan team and management in the Ulster Final on Sunday and especially to our own Enda Duffy and Francis Mc Ginnitty.
