Championship- Drumhowan has started off very well in this year’s championship with a very one-sided game against Fergal O Hanlons. Drumhowan led the game all the way through and won the game with a final score of 9-26 to 2-0. They now face Eire Óg in the next round of the championship but this game has yet to be fixed.
B Final- Our B team faces Castleblayney in the final this Sunday 17th June. The boys have done extremely well to get to the final, defeating Mageracloone in the Semi- Final. The Final will take place in Blackhill at 7pm. Please everyone come and show your support to the boys.
Drumhowan Olympics- The famous “Drumhowan Olympics” will take place this Sunday 17th June. There will be many activities taking place from tractor reversing and socks on a line, to wheelbarrow racing and a game of two halves with many many more activities planned. Due to the Junior B final taking place at 7pm Sunday evening, the Drumhowan Olympics will take place from 2-5.30. There will be indoor and outdoor activities taking place so the Olympics will take place regardless of the weather. Great fun and entertainment is guaranteed for all ages so be sure to come to this annual event.
St. Pats- St Pats minors and u-16 teams are both on a break from competition due to the exams. Training continues as normal
 U-14 – Drumhowan bowed out of the championship by 2 points to Fergal o Hanlons on score line of 6-16 to 8-8 on last Thursday evening. O Hanlons took the initiative from the off and were never headed. Drumhowan finished strong in the final quarter but couldn’t get another goal they needed despite the team’s best efforts. Best of luck to O Hanlons in the final. Our boys now return to league action this Saturday when the travel to Emyvale to face the locals at 12.
 U-12 – Clontibret 1-10 Drumhowan 2-4, our u-12 side fell to a disappointing defeat away to Clontibret last Saturday morning. It was just one of those days when things didn’t go well and so it’s back to the training pitch this week. Next game is against Ballybay on Saturday 23rd June in Mc Keown Park.
 U-8 Go Games – Drumhowan held a blitz last Saturday morning with Rockcorry, Aughnamullen and Fergal O Hanlons providing the opposition. The weather held out and we had a great morning’s football that was enjoyed by all. Drumhowan played well in all three games and all players got game time. Thanks to the other clubs for turning up , the people on the day who helped out and to our 2 young whistlers Aiden Quinn and Mark Mc Cabe who kept a firm control on proceedings.
Under Age Coaching- The under-age coaching for our under 6-8s, under-10s and under-12s /14s continues on Monday evenings in Mc Keown Park at 7pm.Thanks to all those who are attending our coaching sessions in such great numbers.
Drumhowan Sports Day – We will have Under 10 and Under 8 games at our Sports Day on this Sunday. The games will commence at 2-30. More details by text later in the week.
Tickets- Tickets are available for the Ulster Semi Final on Sunday 24th June. If anyone is interested please contact Noel Duffy before this Sunday 17th June. Full details are on the Drumhowan GAA webpage. Tickets can also be bought on www.ticket.ie.
Stewards- Stewards are needed for a double U-14 final which is taking place in Drumhowan on Tuesday 19th June. Stewards are needed on club grounds at 6.15.
Sponsorship- The club is purchasing roll up banners for presentations. Any companies who wish to sponsor these please contact Noel Duffy. This is an excellent advertising opportunity as company names will be advertised in all Drumhowan photos in the media.
Friends of Drumhowan- There are still some people who have yet to give their Friends of Drumhowan subscriptions to John Reilly. Please do so as soon as possible.
