Junior Championship – All roads lead to Monaghan this Friday evening where we take on Eire Og in the Championship at 8pm. The team will be hoping to build on a few recent victories and to extend our unbeaten run in the junior championsip over the past few campagins. In the league encounter earlier in the season Eire Og had a comfortable victory over Drumhowan so our boys will have to up their game considerably. We appeal to our supporters to come out in force and best wishes to the team and management.
Reserves – The reserve team continued their good form this season with a 2-8 to 0-8 victory away to Carrickmacross. They have a busy week with games away to Donaghmoyne on Monday evening at 8pm and then at home to Ballybay on Wednesday July 18th at 7-45pm
Minors – St Pats 4-15 Inniskeen 2-9 .St Pats made it through to the league final with a victory over a plucky Inniskeen side on Tuesday night last. Played in slippy underfoot conditions this was a game St Pats were in control for most of the game apart from the first ten minutes when Inniskeen were on top. Inniskeen took the lead in their first attack when a high ball into the square ended up in the net. St Pats then replied with a well worked goal by Aiden Quinn and followed that with scores by Dean Mooney, Mark Mc Cabe 1-3, Aiden Quinn Josh Sherry 0-2 each and Dessie Ward Sean Sherry 0-1 each. Inniskeen scored another goal before half time to leave nine between them at half time. The second half was a more scrappy affair and for long periods the teams were evenly matched. It took a two goal burst by Josh Sherry to finally put the issue beyond doubt. No doubt team management will be looking for improvements over the coming weeks on things like defending and players releasing the ball quicker to the inside fowards. We will face Corduff in the league final in August.
