Club Notes 11/9/24

 

Fixtures and results 

Seniors – The seniors just about kept their unbeaten championship run last Sunday 8 September when they overcame Scotstown away thanks to an injury time point from Ciaran Duffy to leave the full time score Drumhowan 0-18 Scotstown 0-17. The final group stage game v Eire Óg will decide who tops Group 1. Throw in at Páirc Mhic Eoin is this Saturday 14 September with a 5.30pm start. We urge everyone to come out and support the team in the last game before the quarter final.

 

Minors -Round 2 of the division 3 group 2 championship campaign took place last Saturday 7 September at home to Latton. where the away team won on a 6-13 to 5-6 scoreline. The final round of the group stage is away to Rockcorry on Saturday 21 September.

 

U12s – The U12s took on Aghabog in the Division 3 Shield semi final last Saturday 7 September at Pairc Mhic Eoin and won 5-14 to 3-6. This means a shield final appearance against near neighbours Aughnamullen on weekend beginning 20 September.

Cubs and Academy – Last Saturday 7th September the sun was shining for the final Cubs and Academy session of the year, with a fantastic turnout. Huge thanks to Gerry Woods for organizing the morning and to Aiden Quinn for bringing the energy, despite the many soaked coaches and kids! The club also want to extend our gratitude to all the coaches for dedicating their Saturday morning to the club’s youth. Special thanks to Raymond Connolly for providing the fruit and to Lorraine for snapping some great photos. Finally thank you to Daragh Mc Elearney and Caolan Reilly for presenting the balls!

 

Good Luck to Brigid O’ Neills in the Intermediate Championship Semi final this Saturday 14 September where they take on Truagh in Pearse Park with a 6pm throw in.

 

Help Needed – for 2 games this Saturday 14 September. At 12 noon the Division 2 U14 Championship Final between Oram and Tyholland takes place and then at 5.30 our own championship game v Eire Óg. Please attend an hour before the games.

 

Monaghan Honda 50 club – are organising a club run in aid of Loughmourne NS Autism Unit on Saturday 15th September at 12pm. All vehicles are welcome and registration is from 10.30pm. Registration is at the school – Eircode A75 PY66 at a cost of €20. All support is welcome. More information is available on social media.

 

Bingo – next Drumhowan Bingo will be on Friday September 20. Please keep an eye out on social media for further updates. We will also be holding a raffle with amazing prizes, including a €300 voucher for the Farnham Estate sponsored by Mulligan Transport. Raffle tickets can be purchased now via Drumhowan Paypal or Revolut 0877914272, or on the night. Winners will be announced during Bingo.
