Drumhowan Reserves weren’t able to make it 3 wins from 3 as they played 2nd fiddle to a stronger Emyvale on Saturday 6th April over the whole game but especially in the 2nd half.
Emyvale the home side started well despite hitting a number of wides and kicked a point and a goal before Joseph Duffy got Drumhowan’s first point in the 12th minute who followed it up with a 2nd in the 18th minute. Tom Doherty made it 3 points from a free but that was as good as it got as Emyvale closed out the 1st half with 3 unanswered points to leave the half time score Emyvale 1-4 Drumhowan 0-3.
Emyvale started as they finished and kicked 4 unanswered points before Ciaran Duffy got 1 back from a free in the 9th minute. Half way through the half Michael Atkinson kicked one to leave it 1-9 to 0-5 but 2 goals from Emyvale in a 3 minute spell definitely ended the game as a contest. Then when both teams exchanged points, the Drumhowan score coming from sub Tom Mc Guirk. referee Christopher Brady had enough and blew the game off early with Emyvale emerging victorious by 13.
Drumhowan’s next game in the competition will be in Pairc Mhic Eoin against table toppers Killanny in two weeks time on Saturday 20th April.
