Platinum Tanks RFC Crawley Cup Group 2
Drumhowan 1-15 Cremartin 1-7
Played in awful conditions at Páirc Mhic Eoin last Sunday the 4th of October the Reserves with a very good second half performance secured their second win of the Crawley Cup defeating Cremartin by eight points.
Cremartin started brightly with a goal and a point, the goal coming from a catalogue of errors in the Drumhowan defence due to the slippery and wet underfoot conditions. When Drumhowan eventually got going it was down to 3 frees from the boots of David Caulfield, Micheal Duffy and Joseph Duffy. Cremartin and Michael Atkinson exchanged points to leave the scoreline 1-2 to 0-4 at the water break. Cremartin in the second quarter kept their noses in front with points despite losing Martin Mc Nally to a serious injury. This unsettled them a little and just before the half time whistle David Caulfield from a free levelled it to leave the half time score Drumhowan 0-8 Cremartin 1-5
The second half started slowly and due to worsening weather conditions neither side could get on the scoresheet that was until Micheal Duffy pointed and very shortly afterwards Joseph Duffy hit Drumhowan’s solitary goal to leave four points in it. After this Drumhowan took control of the game and Cremartin only managed a total of two point in the remainder of the half as the weather improved Drumhowan kicked another six points finishing off with a Ciarán Duffy free to leave the full time score Drumhowan 1-15 and Cremartin 1-7. Next week it’s an away trip to Oram
