Ulster Scór na nÓg Semi Final – Congratulations to our Set Dancing Team of Sinead Duffy, Rachel Brennan, Rebecca Brennan, Aoife Lennon, Catherine Walsh, Ursula Markey, Sean Walsh and Niall Grogan who last Saturday 1st December qualified for the Ulster Final to be held in Silverbridge on the 12th of January
AGM – The 67th AGM of Drumhowan GAA took place last Friday 30th of November. In a comprehensive Secretary’s report Paul Mc Guirk looked back on what could be considered a successful year with the highlights being the U13s securing a Division 2 Championship Double, the U17s capturing a Division 2 League Title and the Seniors and Reserves both reaching semi finals in their respective leagues. Martin Mc Elearney thanked everyone for helping him throughout his 5 years of chairperson and also everyone in the club who rowed in behind him to make this year’s fundraiser -The OsKaRs the most successful in the club’s history. After the reports from the various managers and officers were read out then the election of officers took place and the following were appointed.
Chairperson – Gerry Finnegan, Vice Chairperson – Seamus Duffy, Secretary – Paul Mc Guirk, Assistant Secretary – Dympna Mulligan, Treasurer – Phillip Mc Adam, Assistant Treasurer – John Reilly PRO – TBC, Player’s Rep – Paddy Mulligan, Youth Officer – Donal Mc Adam, Coaching Officer – Cormac Duffy, Development Officer – Seamus Duffy, Cultural Officer – Pauline Grogan, Healthy Club Officer – Noel Duffy, Co. Board Rep – Gavin Sheridan Also ratified by the outgoing committee was Children’s Officer – Donal Mc Adam. It was also confirmed that Martin Duffy – Cordoolagh is the club’s – Safe Club Officer.
Sympathy is extended to the Marron Family, Castleblayney on the death of Stephen. Also to the Mc Elroy and Boyd Families on the death of Paul Boyd, Lisnagrieve.
Volunteer Appreciation Night – the 2nd Annual Monaghan GAA Volunteer Appreciation night will take place in the Four Seasons Hotel on Wednesday 12th December. The Drumhowan recipient this year will be a man that needs no introduction to Drumhowan people – Mr. Tommy Mc Ardle. Members are encouraged to attend. Entry is free and the evening starts at 7.30pm.
