Eurotech Junior Football League Cup Drumhowan 3-17 Aghabog 2-8 – After the championship defeat the seniors got back to winning ways with a good victory over Aghabog . Ciaran Duffy opened the scoring but Aghabog went straight down the field and scored the first of their two goals. Mark Mc Cabe then opened his account with a free shortly followed by a Colm Lambe point. Then Drumhowan hit a purple patch and in an 8 minute spell hit 2-5 without reply the goals coming from Colm Lambe and in between Kieran Mooney kicking 3 excellent points. However after Kevin Mooney put the team 2-8 to 1-1 ahead Drumhowan retreated and let Aghabog score 1-4 without reply to leave the half time score Drumhowan 2-8 Aghabog 1-5.
Aghabog hit the first point of the second half and reduced the margin to two points but that was as near as it got with Liam Mc Guirk getting a goal followed by nine point s from eight different players while in this period Aghabog could only manage two remaining scoreless in the last fifteen minutes

Mallon Foods U17 Championship Semi Final – St Patrick’ overcame Scotstown in Ballybay last Sunday on a 5-17 to 1-4 scoreline. They will now meet Clann na Gael in the Final which is at present scheduled for Sunday 30th September at 11am. A venue still has to be arranged. This Sunday 23rd September Emyvale are the visitors to Ballybay at 11am
U11 BC Tournament – The U11s travelled to Emyvale on Saturday morning last (15th September) bright and early to take part in this tournament. They opened with a narrow defeat to Fintona of Tyrone before having two good wins over Letterkenny and Scotstown to reach the Cup section. Here the team met a strong Clontibret side and despite a spirited showing lost the game by a few scores. Overall a great morning’s football and a great experience for the young players. Thanks again to the Emyvale club for the invite and their top class hospitality on the day.
U11 Dan Markey Tournament – The club host the annual tournament this coming Saturday morning the 22nd of September. The pitch will be a hive of activity once proceedings throw in at 10.30am. All players and clubs should be in Drumhowan for 9.50am. Again we will be looking for help on the day around the pitches and in the kitchen. Anyone who can cook, bake or supply refreshments would be much appreciated. Medals will be presented at 1pm.
U7-9 These groups finished up outdoor training on Saturday last with some mini games followed on by refreshments in the Centre afterwards. Each player then was presented will a signed football by the Wylie bothers Drew and Ryan who spoke to all on the importance of keep practising and listening to the coaches. Big thanks to the boys for coming out and standing in for photos and doing autographs etc. Thanks also to all the coaches or anyone who helped out in any way during the season. Special mention must go to Tara Quinn who coordinated everything and coached away as well all season. Remember to keep using the new footballs to practice the basic kicking and catching skills over the winter months.
Training finishes up next Monday 24th at 6.50pm as the season now draws to a close for our U11 -13-15 panels.
Juvenile Trip to Belfast takes place on Saturday 13th October.
Training Pitch – The works have now been completed by Curran Contacts and the pitch sown . All we need now is a bit of good weather to help make it grow.
