Drumhowan 0-17 Blackhill 1-6
The B’s started their season with a handsome win over near neighbours Blackhill on Saturday last at Emerald Park. They started the opening quarter well with some of the points coming from Michael Atkinson, Colm Lambe and Micheal Duffy to leave the score 4 points to 1. The second quarter proved to be a more cagey affair with another 3 scorers getting on the board this time from Niall Mooney, Tom and Liam Mc Guirk with Blackhill replying with a solitary point to leave the half time score Drumhowan 0-7 Blackhill 0- 2
In the 2nd half the team continued to score points with some of them coming from Niall and Damien Mooney with Micheal Duffy adding to his first half score. With only a few minutes left Drumhowan led by 0-16 to 0-5 but Blackhill scored a goal and a point to stage a mini revival but Drumhowan finished the scoring to leave 8 points in it at the end. Full time score Drumhowan 0-17 Blackhill 1- 6.
A good start for the team under the management of Martin Duffy, Shane Mc Cabe and Trevor Treanor. Next game is on St. Patrick’s Day with Doohamlet the visitors to Mc Keown Park with a 12 noon start.
