Monaghan Electrical IFL – The Seniors commenced their Intermediate League Campaign last Sunday the 22nd of March when they secured a victory over the locals in Clones. The Full time score was Clones 0-9 Drumhowan 0 -12 The next game scheduled for this team is Sunday 12th April when the opponents are Cremartin in Páirc Mhic Eoin.
Platinum Tanks RFL Div 2A – The Bs have their 3rd game of the year when they take on Sean Mc Dermotts in Drumhowan this Sunday 29th March at 2pm.
Mc Elevaney Recycling MFL Div 1 -Next game for this team is next Tuesday the 31st of March when they make the long journey to Magheracloone for a 6.30pm throw in.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg Under 16 – St Patrick’s training has commenced Best of luck to the players and management team of Thomas Mc Skeane and Francis Mc Mahon in the season ahead. The first league game is scheduled for Thursday April 9th.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg Under 14 -This Saturday 28th March the U14s take on Emyvale at home in the league at 2pm.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg Under 12 – had their first outing of the season in the Spring League with a game on the hallowed turf of St Tiernachs Park Clones on Saturday last against the locals. After an exciting hours football between two evenly matched teams Drumhowan emerged winners by two points on a scoreline of Drumhowan 0-17 Clones 0.15. Next up is a home game against Truagh on Saturday 4th April. Training continues every Monday and Thursday evening at 7pm and all players are asked to attend.
Under 10– Training for this group also takes place on Monday and Thursdays at 7pm. Go Games are scheduled to commence on Saturday April 11th.
Under 6-8 – Training for these ages takes place on this Saturday evening at 4.30pm for one hour. This will be the last Saturday session. It will then go back to the usual Monday evening slot from 7-8pm starting on Monday next 30th March. So a busy weekend ahead for these players with two training sessions.
Farney Easter Camp takes place in Ballybay for 3 days from 7th to 9th April 10am to 2.30pm. Its open to boys and girls aged 5 to 12 years old. Each child will receive a Monaghan hoodie and the cost is €40 for first child and €35 for other family members. Please see Monaghan GAA website for more details and application form.
Coaching Defensive Play – This course is being delivered in Drumhowan on Wednesday 25th March at 7.30pm by Tony Scullion and Roger Keenan of the Ulster Council. Its open to all clubs in the county and we would ask and encourage our own coaches to attend.(if you read this before Thursday)
Club Executive Meeting – takes place this Thursday 26th March at 9pm. Executive members please attend.
Topaz Cash for Clubs – Drumhowan are now registered for this initiative. Our registration number is 11137. When you fill up at any Topaz station please ask for a card that will be stamped every time you receive €40 worth of fuel. We have to the 10th of May to collect 300 cards. Lets get going. Get your families and friends involved. Keep collecting cards and when you have a few filled please return them to Topaz , Blayney or to PRO Noel. Closing date is the 10th of May.
First Aid Course – That was scheduled to take place on Wednesday 25th March was postponed due to the coaching course mentioned above. It will be rescheduled for the near future. It is essential that the management of teams attend. Further details from club chairman Martin Mc Elearney.
