Monaghan Electrical IFL  – the Senior League is now back running and we had two heavy defeats in the past week. Last Wednesday 15th April Cremartin were the visitors to Páirc Mhic Eoin. At half time there were three points in it with Drumhowan’s 4 points coming from the boot of Colm Lambe, 3 from placed balls. Things got worse and halfway into the 2nd half Drumhowan had fallen 8 points behind when a Kevin Mooney goal brought hope with 11 minutes left followed by another Colm Lambe  free. However this hope was short lived with Cremartin scoring a  goal in the 51st minute before adding 3 further points to leave the full time score Drumhowan 1 – 7 Cremartin 1 – 17 Scorers were  Com Lambe 0-6 (5 Frees) Kevin Mooney 1-0 Niall Mooney 0- 1

On Sunday we ventured to the south  of the county to take on Carrick Emmetts.  This time the game was effectively over at half time with Carrick scoring 3 first half goals to leave the half time score Drumhowan 0 -4 Carrick 3 – 6.  The next Drumhowan point came half way through the half with Aiden Quinn finishing off Drumhowan’s  scores  with a goal in the 22nd minute. The game finished with the score Drumhowan 1 – 6 Carrick 3 -13. Team and Scorers were Enda Duffy, Conor Duffy, Liam Mc Guirk, Barry Mc Guirk, Paddy Mulligan 0-1, Darren Duffy, Ciarán Duffy, Anthony Mulligan, John Paul O’ Neill, Niall Mooney 0-1, Colm Lambe 0-3(3f), Kieran Mooney 0-1 , Aiden Quinn1-0, Aidan Duffy,  David Millar, Rónán Duffy fand James Mc Elearney.

Best wishes is extended to Carrick’s Aaron Lynch who suffered a broken ankle midway during the first half. The club would like to wish him a speedy recovery.

We met Currin last night(Wednesday 22nd April) in Páirc Mhic Eoin Next Sunday the 26th of April we make the visit Corduff where we take on the locals at 3pm.

Minor Football League – Last Tuesday the 14th  of April the minors suffered a defeat at the hands of Scotstown . The full time score was Scotstown 3 – 13 St. Patrick’s 2 – 6.  The next game for this team is on Tuesday 28th of April with a home game in Drumhowan to Monaghan Harps.

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U16 Div 1– Last Thursday the 16th of April the U16s suffered a 1 point defeat in Pearse Park  to Carrick. The full time score was St. Patrick’s 3-12 Carrickmacross 3 – 13. This Thursday the 23rd of April (tonight) there  is another home game this time with Truagh the opposition with a 6.45pm throw in.

Gerry’ Prepared Veg U14 Div 2 – Next game for this team is Saturday the 9th of May with an away game to Donaghmoyne with a 12 noon throw in.

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U12 Spring League Zone E  Drumhowan 0.14  Clontibret 0.8 –  We won our final game in the Spring League series on Saturday morning last with a hard fought win over a gallant Clontibret side. We will now be playing in the Spring League Finals day in Cloghan on Saturday May 2nd and our opposition will be know in the next few days. In the mean time there will be much improvement needed in the quality of our performance and this will have to happen on the training pitch over the next 2 weeks. Training continues on Mondays and Thursdays at 7pm.
Under 10 –  We may have a challenge game on this Thursday evening 23rd at 7pm in Drumhowan against the Clontibret- Cremartin-Doohamlet Community games team. A text will go out later in the week.
Under 8   – Training continues on Monday evenings at 7pm. We have a game lined up in Cremartin on this Friday evening. All players should be in Cremartin for 6.40pm and the games will finish at 8pm. Wear gumshields please.

Topaz Cash for Clubs – Drumhowan are now registered for this initiative. Our registration number is 11137. When you fill up at any Topaz station please ask for a card that will be stamped every time you receive €40 worth of fuel. We have to the 10th of May to collect 300 cards. Lets get going. Get your families and friends involved. Keep collecting cards and when you have a few filled please return them to Topaz , Blayney or to PRO Noel. Closing date is the 10th of May.
Sympathy –  the club at this time would like to offers its sympathy to the Murnaghan and Mooney family  on the death of Brendan Murnaghan last week. Brendan was an uncle of Senior Player Kevin Mooney.  We also offer our condolences to the Boylan and Mc Quillan Families on the death of John Boylan, Cornahoe who died suddenly on Monday morning. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anamacha.
Congratulations to Brendan and Marie Quinn on the birth of their daughter Orlaith a few weeks ago.  Best wishes also to Catherine and Colm Mulligan on the birth of their son Tadhg Aodhan and finally míle buiochas to Neill and Aisling Sheridan on the arrival of daughter Aoife.
