1st Round FT Drumhowan 2-10 Toome 1-9
Last Sunday the 19th of June Drumhowan made it two win in the 2016 Junior Championship. This time Toome were the opponents. Drumhowan made a good start with the first 2 scores coming from Colm Lambe the first a point followed by a goal in the 9th minute/ However Michael Atkinson was the only other scorer in the first half kicking a point in the 22nd minute. Thankfully Toome hadn’t their shoot boots on as they only scored 3 points kicking 11 wides to leave the half time score Drumhowan 1-2 Toome 0-3
.
Toome brought the game to life with a goal in the opening minute of the second half from half time sub Shane Moore. to go a point ahead. Kevin Mooney and Darren Duffy quickly replied with points. Then came Toome’s best spell as they kicked four unanswered points to lead by a goal with the game going into the last quarter.
Drumhowan then made two substitutions with David Millar and Kieran Mc Elroy coming into the game. This seemed to have the desired affect with Drumhowan having their best period of the game scoring 1-4 in a seven minute period with the goal coming from Aidan Duffy who was making his first start of the year alongside Colm Lambe. Then in injury time Colm Lambe and Ryan Murphy exchanged points to leave the full time score Drumhowan 2-10 Toome 1-9.
Drumhowan now will meet near neighbours Blackhill in round 2A in mid August while Toome will take on Killeevan in early July.

Eurotech JFL – the game scheduled for this Sunday the 26th of June v Oram is now postponed due to Monaghan Hurlers playing the Ulster Senior Hurling Shield Final.
Minors – will resume soon after the exam break. Good luck to Owen Quinn and the rest of the Co. Minors as they take on Donegal in the semi-final of Ulster Championship this Saturday evening the 25th of June at 5pm.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U16 Div 1 – St . Patrick’s will take on Castleblayney next Thursday 30th June in Drumhowan with a 7.30pm throw in.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U14 Div 3 – The u14s narrowly lost to Aughnamullen last Friday the 17th of June in the semi final of the championship. The full time score in Aughnamullen was Aughnamullen 3-13 Drumhowan 3-9. Next game for the U114s is away to Clones on Saturday 2nd of July.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U12 Div 3 – Last Wednesday the 15th of June the U12s had a narrow but exciting win over Aghabog in Páirc Mhic Eoin. The full time score was Drumhowan 2-13 Aghabog 3-8 . This Saturday 25th of June they are away to Threemilehouse where they take on the locals Sean Mc Dermotts at 12 noon.
U10s Go Games – The Under 10 side took part in a Blitz on Thursday night last the 16th of June in a well run event by Rockcorry Gaa – they had games against Tyholland , Clones and Rockcorry.
Go Games – The Club Hosts host a double blitz for the U8s & U10s this Thursday 23rd June (tonight) from 7 – 9pm. The club will need help on the evening and both pitches will be used for this event. Castleblayney, Aughnamullen and Donaghmoyne will provide the opposition.
