Drumhowan booked their place in the JFC semi-finals when a brace of goals in the final quarter guided them past a stern challenge from Currin in Aughnamullen. All-Star nominee Jack McCarron’s return from injury helped Currin produce their best performance of the campaign as they led throughout the first half, but Drumhowan outscored them by 2-9 to 0-6 after the restart to secure their third consecutive win. Currin isolated McCarron and Tiernan Kearns up front to good effect, with the duo hitting a combined 0-13, but Drumhowan had nine players on the scoresheet for the second time in their last three games, with goals by Caolán Reilly and Patrick Quinn proving decisive.
