Drumhowan A Night at the OsKaRs

After months of preparation the night is almost upon us.  Drumhowan – a Night at the OsKaRs will take place in the Glencarn Hotel this Saturday Night the 7th of April  at 8pm.  Doors will open at 6.30pm Almost 70 local actors  will take to the red carpet  to watch  the films they filmed on location around Ballybay, Drumhowan and Cootehill.  Up to 1000 people are expected to attend to watch scenes from Fr. Ted, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Snapper, Forrest Gump, Sister Act and the Field.  OsKaRs on the Night will be awarded on the Night for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Movie, Best Grossing Movie, Best Grossing Actor/Actress to name just a few.  Best movie will be judged by the audience and 3 celebrity judges on the Night namely Owen Lennon, Grainne Mc Elain and Jon Kenny.   There will also be All – Ireland tickets and a signed Monaghan Jersey for Auction.  Tickets are still available form committee member or at the reception in the Glencarn.  Patrons can also pay admission fee of €20 on the night and admission price for children is €10.

 

On the Night Itself

Doors will open at 6.30pm

Dress Code – Actors and Committee will be Black Tie , Ticket holders-  Smart –  Can wear Black Tie if they wish but not essential

Programme: €5 – Buy to find out who are the Characters the Actors are playing. – Also profiles on all the actors and also a good directory of the local business

Vote for your Favourite Movie at interval and after movie 7 is shown

While waiting for Results the following will occur

  2. Most Memorable Moment 5. Best Supporting Actor 6. Best Supporting Actress
  3. Best Actress 8. Best Actor 9. Best Movie

No 1-3 will be decided before show but announced at end

No 4-8 will be decided by judges

No. 9 Best Movie will be decided by Judges and Audience – 60 per cent Judges 40 per cent audience

When all the OsKaRs are awarded dance the night away with a Disco.
