Club Notes 8/8/17

Eurotech Junior Football League  –  The As have an away game to Oram this Friday nigh 11th August with a 7.30pm throw in. Next game will be in the championship on  Saturday 19th  against the losers of Éire Óg and Clones which is being played this weekend.

Mallon Foods U16 Division 1 Shield  –  The U16s had a good away win to Magheracloone last Thursday 3rd August  on a full time scoreline of 3-10 to 3-6. They will now play the same opposition in the final of this competition.

Manor Farm U14 Division 3 Championship 3 Final  Drumhowan 2-8  Patrick Emmet’s 8-9  – Goals proved crucial in the championship final held in  Gavan Duffy Park last Monday 7th of August.  The combined  forces of Aghabog and Currin got them at the crucial time at the beginning of the second half  to kill this game off as a contest.

The first half  began with  Patrick Emmet’s getting goals  with Drumhowan  slow off the mark  and Killian Mc Adam opening the scoring. However Drumhowan had their best spell in the 5 minutes before half time with points coming from captain James Mc Adam, Caolan Reilly and Ciarán Keenan.  Jason Clarke then notched a goal to leave the  half time scoreline Drumhowan 1-6  Patrick Emmet’s  3-4

As mentioned previously  Patrick Emmet’s opened the 2nd half with two crucial goals  and Drumhowan just couldn’t get the necessary scores with  their two 2nd half points coming from Tom Doherty and  James Mc Adam.   The Emmet’ continued their scoring but Drumhowan finished  the match brightly  with Ciaran Keenan closing the scoring with a goal.

The club would like to thank the players and  management team of Donal Mc Adam, Barry Tomany and Aidan Doherty for their  effort . However season is not over yet with a league semi final still to come.

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U12 Division 2 Cup Rd 1 – The U12s start their cup campaign next Monday  14th of  August with a  home game against Traugh with a 7.30pm throw in  at Páirc Mhic Eoin.
