Club Notes 6/3/18
OsKaRs   – preparations for April 7th continue  at great pace. Rehearsals continue. Fundraising steps up a pace this weekend. First event of the weekend is a table quiz being held by Jamie Hughes as part of his fundraising. This will take place in the Ballybay Inn  (Pat O ‘ Brien’s ) this Friday 9th March at 8pm.  Entry is €10 per person or €40 per table. Then this Sunday 11th March Cillian Mc Aviney, Paul Finlay, Stephen Drury and Ashley White will host  a 5k  fun run from Ballybay Pearse Park. It starts at 3pm with registration commencing at 1.30pm.  Entry fees are €10 per person, children €5  or a family for €20. We also encourage all the local clubs to join in and wear the club colours.  Who is the fastest club??  Lots of arguments on that one.   Also on Sunday from 10am to 3pm Anthony Mulligan  with  hold his fundraiser  with a little help from the rest of the clann.-  The Post Emma Wash!! (Vehicle  not personal!)  This will take place in the Lorry Yard at Cabra. The better  the wash the more money you give.  For those who don’t know where  to go, stick the eircode A75 X862 into Google Maps and it will take you there.  Declan Savage and Ciaran Duffy also plan to hold a fundraising raffle of sporting memorabilia. Amazing value at €20 and also anyone who purchases will be in with a chance of winning a €1000.  Of course you can also buy  from any committee member. 
 
Platinum Tanks RFL Division 2A – Due to  Emma colliding with the beast last  week the reserves at the second time of asking will commence their campaign this  Saturday 10th March with a 4pm away game to near neighbours Blackhill. They will compete in Division 2A once again this year. 
 
Eurotech Junior Football League  – the Seniors  now have another while to wait before their campaign throws in on Saturday 31st of March with an away trip to Éire Óg  with a throw in time of 5pm. This year there are 12 Junior Teams with Scotstown, Corduff and Truagh also entering teams. This means each team will play each other once before splitting into a cup and shield with 6 teams in each. 
Player’s Membership –  before the playing season commences   this Saturday all adult players must player their Friends of Drumhowan Membership. This can be done in one amount or monthly by direct debit. Only paid up members are covered by the GAA Injury fund and as a result will not be considered for selection until it’s paid.  Please contact Philip at Treasurer.drumhowan.monaghan@gaa.ie

U11-13-15   Training continues on Saturdays from 11 to 12.30 both indoors and on the pitch. Under 13 football is provisionally fixed to commence on Saturday 24th March and under 15 a week later with games mostly on Thursday evenings for that group. It is hoped to have a challenge game for both ages before that. Our Under 13 side will operate in Division 2 and our U15 squad will play in Division 3.

U11 – Spring Leagues. We have been placed in a Zone along with Ballybay, Rockcorry, Clones, Seans and Eire Og. The first game will take place on Saturday 31st March.
U9  –  Indoor Blitz this Saturday 10th March in Ballybay Recreation Centre. All players there for 9.45 and over  by 11.35. Take water and gum shields
U6-7   –  Training takes place in the Recreation Centre from 4-5pm each Saturday for the next number of weeks. There has been great turnouts so far so keep up the good work everyone. Take water and 1 euro to cover hall costs. Please download WhatsApp in order to get the messages from Tara to your phone.
Easter Camps –  April 3rd -5th In Ballybay from 10am to 2.30pm daily. You can get more info and book online on the Monaghan Gaa Website.
Please remember in your prayers Joey Mooney, Drumlane who was laid to rest in Ballintra last Monday the 5th of  March.
Congratulations to Martin and Nicola Mc Elroy on the birth of baby Daragh recently.  Another Drumhowan back of the future or will he move to the forwards?
