UJFC – Our interest in the Ulster Junior Club Football Championship finished in Crossmaglen last Sunday when a strong Keady  outscored us by 4 points. It all started so brightly with a Darren Duffy goal almost from the throw in. However Keady replied almost immediately. This was going to a running theme throughout the game. Despite being under severe pressure, due to a number of great saves by Enda Duffy and some dreadful shooting by Keady, we went in at half time level with the score at 1 -3 each. The points came from Kieran Mooney, Liam Mc Guirk and a free from Colm Lambe. Just before half time Dermot Mooney had to leave the pitch due to a head injury. In the second half Keady raced into the lead. However Aidan Duffy scored a goal.  At this point David Millar went off due to an injury.  Keady  then quickly went up the field and scored another goal.  After a 45 dropped short Kieran Mooney got on the end of it to leave just 2 in it. Within minutes Keady had another goal, this time from the penalty spot. Darren Duffy finished off the scoring with a pointed free.
Team and Scores: Enda Duffy, Dermot Mooney, Liam Mc Guirk 0-1 Barry Mc Guirk, Niall Mooney, Darren Duffy 1 – 1 (1f)  Aidan Quinn, Kieran Mc Elroy, Anthony Mulligan, David Millar(c), Kevin Mooney, Michael Atkinson, Kieran Mooney 1 – 1 Aidan Duffy, Colm Lambe 0- 1 (1f) Subs used – Patrick Mulligan for Dermot Mooney, Christopher Mc Ginnity for David Millar and Rónán Duffy for Colm Lambe.

At this point  the club would like to thank the management team of Kevin Carragher, Martin Woods and Martin Mc Elearney for all their effort throughout the year. Most importantly thanks to all the players for the joy they have given to the supporters in 2014. Enjoy the rest and come back in the New Year ready for the Intermediate Battle.
