Drumhowan A Night at the OsKaRs

After months of preparation  the night is almost upon us.  Drumhowan – a Night at the OsKaRs will take place in the Glencarn Hotel this Saturday Night the 7th of April  at 8pm.  Doors will open at 7pm Almost 70 local actors  will take to the red carpet  to watch  the films they filmed on location around Ballybay, Drumhowan and Cootehill.  Up to 1000 people  are expected to attend to watch scenes from Fr. Ted, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Snapper, Forrest Gump, Sister Act  and the Field.  OsKaRs  on the Night will be awarded on the Night for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Movie, Best Grossing Movie, Best Grossing Actor/Actress  to name just  a few.  Best  movie will be judged by the audience and 3 celebrity judges on the Night namely Owen Lennon, Gráinne Mc Elwain and Jon Kenny.   There will also be  All – Ireland tickets  and signed Monaghan Jerseys for Auction.  Tickets are still Available from any Actor. Committee Member  or at the reception in the Glencarn.  Patrons  can also pay on the night and admission price for children is €10

Eurotech Junior Football League  –  Drumhowan 0-8  Éire Óg 1-14 Drumhowan made a disappointing start to their 2018 league campaign with a defeat to Éire Óg last Saturday night the 31st of March. The home club raced into an early 4 point lead  after  7 minutes before two frees from Mark Mc Cabe  left 2 in it.  Éire Óg then scored a point  before points from play from David Millar and Ciarán Duffy  left only 1 in after 20 minutes. However that was close as it got as Éire Óg finished the half off strongly with 3 unanswered points to leave the half time score Drumhowan 0-4  ÉireÓg  0-8.    3 Mark Mc Cabe frees kept it close  and a Darren Duffy point in the 18th minute only left a goal in it. That would prove to be the last score  while Éire Óg scored a further 1-3  to leave  a goal and 6 points in it at the end.

Platinum Tanks RFL Division 2A  – The Bs travel to Carrickmacross on Saturday  14th April with a 7pm throw in.

Connolly Meats  MFL Division 1 Group B  –  The minors suffered a defeat at home in Páirc Mhic Eoin last Tuesday 27th  March when Scotstown proved to be the strongest team when they won on  a 4-7 to 0-5 scoreline.  On Tuesday 3rd April there was the short trip to Aughnamullen. The final game of the group is not scheduled till the 24th of April

U15 Division 3  The U15s  open their league campaign with an away game in Aughnamullen this Thursday evening 5th April at 6-30.  All players should be there for 6pm.  Good luck to the panel and team management of Barry Tomany, Donal Mc Adam and Aidan Doherty.

U13 Division 2  Next game is at home to Donaghmoyne on Monday evening 9th April at 7pm

U11. Spring League –   Ballybay 0-14. Drumhowan 0-12.  The U11s  lost by two points in a keenly contested game on Saturday last th 31st March Next game is a home one against Eire Og on Saturday 14th April and another one on the
following Wednesday night.

U6 – 9.  Training on the pitch each Monday evening from 7-8pm –  New players always welcome.
