Club Notes 29/8/17
Eurotech Junior Football League – the seniors have an away game to Currin this Sunday 3rd September with a throw in time of  12.30pm.  There then is an unplayed game against Clones on Wednesday 6th September  in Páirc Mhic Eoin with a 6.45pm start.
Mallon Foods U16 Division 1 Shield  Final – St. Patrick’s  2-13 Magheracloone 2-8  Last Friday 25th August  the U16s took on Magheracloone in the the Division 1 Shield Final in Emerald Park , Blackhill.  St. Patrick’s opened brightly with a goal and a point in the first three minutes the goal coming from Darragh Sherry, More was to come with frees from Julius Sniauksta and a point from Patrick Quinn  to leave 7 in it after the quarter hour mark. However Magheracloone fought back   with 3 points in a row  but Aodhán Brennan left some breathing space in it  with a well taken goal after 24 minutes which proved to be the final score of the half. The half time score read St. Patrick’s  2-6 Magheracloone 0-5.
Magheracloone started  the 2nd half with a crucial goal  from Kyle Mackey but Julius Sniauksta  and Daragh  Mc Elearney responded with 2 points.  2 Jack Doogan frees cancelled them out but Pat’s responded once again to leave a goal and three in it with a quarter left.  Jack Mc Nulty scored a 2nd goal for Magheracloone to leave only three in it  but that was as good as it got as Joseph Duffy closed the scoring with 2 pointd  to leave the full time score   St. Patrick’s 2-13 Magheracloone 2-8.

Mallon Foods U14 Division 3 Semi Final –  The U14s were due to travel to Doohamlet for the league semi final on Tuesday 29th at 6.45pm. Check the website for result.
Gerry’s Prepared Veg U12 Division 2 Cup   Drumhowan 1-14 Clontibret 0-10 –  The  12s  had a good win over Clontibret on Saturday last in a very competitive game between two evenly matched teams that was in the balance right up to the end. With other results going in Drumhowan’s way this now leaves us in the final where we will play the winners of Truagh and Clontibret. There is one last league game left at home to Aghabog on Saturday 9th September.
GR8 U8 Go Games   – The U8s took part in a Go Games Blitz in Clones on Saturday morning last. The team had matches against Corduff and Inniskeen and enjoyed the chance to play on the hallowed sod of Clones. Thanks to our mentors who looked after the team on the day.
 
Gr8 Go Games U8 & U10  – The final Blitz of the season takes place on this Saturday morning the 2nd of September in Tyholland at 10am. This is for both Under 8 and Under 10 sides. A text will go out later in the week re times.
U10 Dan Markey Tournament – Our own U10 tournament has been provisionally fixed for Saturday September 30th. More details in the coming weeks.
Training continues on Monday evenings at 7pm.
All Ireland Football Ticket Draw – The club are running a raffle for 2 Tickets to the All Ireland Football Final and some additional spending money. Cards were handed out at the weekend and we ask everyone to make a good effort to sell all their lines over the next two weeks. Anyone who needs a card or didn’t get one please contact Philip Mc Adam, John Reilly ,Gerry Finnegan or any committee member.
Friends of Drumhowan – is now long overdue  In order to put your name for All Ireland Hurling or Football Tickets  membership has to be paid this week.
Fleadh 2017 winners – The club would like to congratulate  Colm Mc Mahon and  Mark Tomany  on their All Ireland Titles  in  the Flute  and Accordion  in Ennis recently. Also well done  to Niall Grogan and Christina Sherry who were members of the Foirne Rince Muineachain 15-18 Mixed 8 Hand which came in  2nd place. Finally congratulations to Ursula and George McAdam, who were members of the Blackwater Ceili Band which took 2nd place in the Senior Ceili Band competition at Fleadh!  All 6 have competed for Drumhowan in Scór
Circuit Classes  – will commence in September in the community centre. They will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from  7.30pm. All levels of fitness catered for.  For those  who want that little bit more there is also the  RT24 class on Thursdays at 8.30pm.  RT24 is a HITT workout ,using resistance (weight plates) and your own body weight to increase power ,strength and burn fat !!
