Acorn Life Scór na nÓg County Final – Drumhowan GAA hosted Scór na nÓg County Final in Tullycorbet Community Centre on Saturday night last the 24th of November.   The Club took part in 3 competitions.  Figure Dance team (Laura Mc Mahon, Rachel Brennan, Annmarie Lavelle, Sinead Duffy, Shauna Lennon and Aoife Lennon) and Sinead Duffy (Recitation) performed very well but unfortunately didn’t emerge winners.  The Set Dance team of Sinead Duffy, Rachel Brennan, Rebecca Brennan, Aoife Lennon, Catherine Walsh, Ursula Markey, Sean Walsh, Niall Grogan go forward to Ulster semi final in Silverbridge this Saturday, 1 December at 4pm.  Thanks to Carmel Duffy, former Scór Sinsear County Winner who sang Amhran na bhFiann and Sinead Grogan who was MC for the night.  Thanks to all who helped out on the night and ensured the smooth running of the event.

A.G.M.: Only one item left to clear up in 2018 is our A.G.M. which will be held tomorrow Friday 30th November at 8pm. We ask all members and anyone who wishes to make the effort to attend this very important meeting where the season will be reviewed and plans will be put in place for 2019. The season past saw an improvement in our Senior teams fortunes , overdue success at juvenile level and the clubs biggest ever successful fundraising event The OsKaRs.

Subway Ulster U14 Indoor Blitz Magherafelt. The U14s  travelled to Magherafelt  last Saturday  morning the 24th of November  to take part in the second and final Ulster Blitz indoors in the very impressive Meadow Bank Arena facilitates. There were  6 matches against club sides from Down, Derry, Antrim , Donegal , Tyrone and Armagh. The boys performed well winning all six games to bring down the curtain on a successful season for this group with the Division 2 double already in the trophy cabinet. On the way home they had well earned refreshments in Mc Donald’s in Cookstown. Thanks to all the players and to John Reilly and Donal Mc Adam who drove the boys up on both occasions.
 
Breakthrough Performance Limited   A  GAA youth development programme designed to help young players between the age of 12 and 17 achieve their potential on the pitch will commence in  Pearse Brothers hall and astro turf facilities from this Saturday  1st of December 2018 to the 22nd December 2018 and again from the 5th of January 2019 to the 2nd March 2019. This is run by Dessie Ward . Full details and pricing are available on Breakthrough Performance Facebook Page. At this stage the club would like to wish Dessie every success with Breakthrough.
Volunteer Appreciation Night  – the 2nd Annual Monaghan GAA Volunteer Appreciation night will take place in the Four Seasons Hotel on Wednesday 12th December. The Drumhowan recipient  this year will  be a man that needs no introduction to Drumhowan people – Mr. Tommy Mc Ardle. Members are encouraged to attend. More details next week.
