AGM – the club’s AGM took place last Thursday evening the 21st of November. A reasonable crowd attended and they were welcomed by Chairperson David Hurson. The various officers presented their reports. A long time was spent at the election of the officers. Eventually the following people were elected

Assistant Secretary (Registrar) – Darren Duffy

Treasurer – John Reilly

Assistant Treasurer – John Mc Ardle

PRO – Noel Duffy

Player’s Rep – Darren Duffy

Children’s Officer (Youth Officer) Martin Duffy – Corvoy – not elected at AGM

Coaching Officer – Donal Mc Adam

Development Officer – Tommy Mc Ardle

Cultural Officer – Pauline Grogan

Co. Board Delegate – Niall Mc Adam.

As you can see the positions of Chairperson and Secretary remain vacant. A sub committee consisting of John Reilly, John Mc Ardle and Darren Duffy were appointed to seek people for the two positions. They will have recommendations for the executive at the next meeting on Thursday 12th December. If any members have any suggestions please contact any of the 3 named above,


Scor na nOg  Congratulations to the Figure/Ceilí Dancing, Musical Group, Question Time and Set Dancing teams who have qualified for the County final of Scor na nOg to be held in Clontibret Community Centre on Friday, 29 November at 8 p.m.  They qualified last Friday night in a newly refurbished Tullycorbet Community Centre where our own Cultural Officer Pauline Grogan was a very capable Bean an Tí. Supervalu Castleblayney 5K . Best luck to our runners in the club section of the race on Sunday. Drumhowan will be represented by Dermott Mc Dermott, Darren Duffy, John Mc Ardle and Stephen Mc Ginnitty. The organisers also would encourage as many people as possible to take part on the day let it be for a walk or jog at your own pace.This year they are raising money for St Mary’s Hospital and the Alzheimer’s society. The race starts at 2pm on Sunday in Castleblayney and you can register on line or before 1pm on the day.


Winter Programme  – Last of  Indoor sessions take place this  Saturday at  5.30.  Lets have a big crowd for final session of 2013. There might even be  be a special guest in attendance ?
