Gerry’s Prepared Veg  U13 Div 2 Championship Final   Drumhowan 6-17  Clontibret 5-16.   Pride of place this week goes to the U13s. They emerged four point winners after an epic battle with Clontibret in sunny Doohamlet on last Sunday evening. After an even first ten minutes Drumhowan finished the first half strongly to go in at the break with a good lead. However a spirited and talented Clontibret side came storming back into the game and the gap was reduced to two points with five minutes remaining.
At that stage Drumhowan were unable to win ball in the middle third as Clontibret took over. However the boys steadied the ship and started to win possession again and broke up field with two scores by Jason Clarke and a Killian Mc Adam goal  that sealed the win. It was a good overall team performance on the night played in extremely hot conditions. There was great excitement and relief at the full time whistle as the large crowd of vocal Drumhowan supporters made their way onto the pitch to congratulate the boys. Joint team captains Jason Clarke and Tristan Duffy accepted the cup from another Drumhowan man John Mc Ardle.  Well done to the panel of players for all their effort and commitment and to the management of Aidan, Brendan, Cormac and Donal.
