Scór  na nÓg _Congratulations to our 5 Scor na nOg Co Champions Winners in Ceili Dancing,(Aine Grogan, Christina Sherry, Lorna Mc Guirk, Sinead Grogan, Blinne Treanor, Angie Mc Guirk, Orlaith Brennan, Cait Brennan), Set Dancing,(Aine Grogan, Christina Sherry, Sinead Grogan, Megan Treanor, Blinne Treanor, Lauren Duffy, Angie Mc Guirk, Orlaith Brennan). Recitation,(Patrick Duffy) Instrumental Music (Tomasina Mc Ginnity, Stephen Mc Mahon, Colm Mc Mahon, Finbar Brennan)  and Quiz.(Patrick Duffy, Stephen Mc Mahon, Colm Mc Mahon, Finbar Brennan), who won their titles in Corcaghan last Friday night the 28th November. The 1st 4 will now take part in the Provincial semi final in Corcaghan on the 13th December at 7pm while the Quiz team have now qualified for a 3rd All Ireland Final in 4 Years This will take place in City West Dublin on the 14th of February.  Hard luck also to the Ballad Group (Donna Mc Adam, Tomasina Mc Ginnity, Christina Sherry, Stephen Mc Mahon)   and Solo Singer – Tomasina Mc Ginnity who were very unlucky to lose out. At this stage the club would like to thank our Cultural Officer Pauline Grogan for all her effort in organising Scór over the past 5 years. Drumhowan have gone from strength to strength due to Pauline organising the tutors and competitors.  We know she will still be lending a helping hand to our New Cultural Officer. Also last Friday night Seamus Mc Elwain, Pauline and Mackie Rooney stepped down from their involvement in Scór. The Drumhowan Club would like to thank them for their help and support over the years.

Juvenile Winter Programme – Last Saturday 29th November   saw the culmination of the Club’s Winter Programme. Thanks to all the coaches who helped out over the 5 weeks It was great to see so many children attend. Big praise goes out to our coaching officer Donal Mc Adam who organised the programme. Present at the session were our senior captain David Millar along with fellow senior player Darren Duffy. Our club chairman Martin Mc Elearney also encouraged all the young present to keep up the good work over the winter months. Photos of the night cn be be seen on the club facebook page.

Coaching Workshops – The Monaghan Games & Coaching Development committee in conjunction with the Ulster GAA have released dates a number of workshops that will take place during November, December and January. ‘Activate GAA Warm Up’  takes place this Thursday 4th December( tonight) at Cremartin GAA at 7.30pm. A workshop entitled ‘Fitness Testing & Developing a Programme’ is scheduled for Tuesday 6th January at Cloghan at 7.30pm and finally ‘Planning the Pre-Season’ will take place on Tuesday 13th January in Cloghan at 7.30pm. National Club Draw  – the club is  selling tickets for this draw. All proceeds will go towards the running of the club. If interested in purchasing a ticket contact any committee member.

Sympathy – The Club would like to offer its sympathy to the family of the late Mickey Goodman who died last Thursday and was buried in Ballintra on Sunday the last day of November. In his 90 years on earth Mickey lived all his life in Toneyglasson and as well as serving on many committees through the years was chairperson of the club from 1964 – 67. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. We would also like to offer our sympathy to Marie Mooney and sons, Cabra on the death of Mae Mc Nally, Rackwallace, Maries mother. 

Congratulations – to Niall and Róisín Mc Adam on the birth of their twin boys Seán and Óisín.
